Equipping current and former Foster youth to Achieve Independence

Group of Friends

All young adults deserve the chance to achieve independence

Our mission it to provide a helping hand to youth in foster care ages 14 and older, as well as those who have aged out of foster care with the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent citizens and assets to our society.

Young adults aging out of the foster care system are more likely than those in the general population to: drop out of high school, not complete a higher education or trade school, become addicted to drugs or alcohol, be unemployed, incarcerated,  homeless, or be a parent at an early age and repeat the cycle of foster care.

Purpose/Mission

OAI is a Texas 501(c)3 corporation with a desire to equip the young adults in foster care with the knowledge and skills needed to become independent assets to our society.

Operation: Achieve Independence, Inc. (OAI)

Our program offers mentoring, life skills training, education and career preparation and transitional living support to youth in Foster Care ages 14 and older. OAI offers 'A Guide to the Impact of Trauma' Class as well as TCC (Trauma Competent Care) upon request.
